Joju, the first princess of the great nation of Dolman, loses the battle for the throne and is branded as a villain who plotted to kill her stepmother. She is then exiled from the country and forced to marry into the small border country of Ronino. In her despair, Joju is greeted by King Emilion, who is rumored to be cruel and merciless.

Emilion told her not to seek love, but unlike his homeland full of enemies, he treated Joju fairly. Joju regains his innate intelligence and gains more allies in a palace rife with conspiracies by those who oppose the young king.
