Kadokawa announced that Tatsuma Ejiri’s Gundam Red Giant manga will officially end this October. The fifth collected volume will release on October 23, 2025, in Japan. This final book brings the series to a close after a little more than a year of serialization.
Story After the Battle of Jaburo
The plot begins after Zeon’s failed attack on the Jaburo base in South America. From this point, the manga follows an Earth Federation unit chasing the retreating Zeon forces. Since Zeon is weakened and desperate, readers can expect a tense conflict.
This setup offers fans a new angle on the Gundam universe. It highlights the fallout of a key battle while introducing fresh character perspectives.
Publication History and Author Background
Ejiri started serializing Gundam Red Giant in Gundam Ace magazine in March 2023. The manga quickly gained attention, with each volume adding more depth to the Federation vs. Zeon rivalry.
- Volume 4: released on March 25, 2024
- Volume 5: finale scheduled for October 23, 2025
Ejiri is already well known in the manga world. He created P2! – Let’s Play Pingpong! (2006–2008, seven volumes). Later, he collaborated with Ukyō Kodachi on Infini-T Force: Arc to the Future (2015–2020), which wrapped up in February 2021.
Chances for an International Release
At the moment, the series is ending only in Japan. However, international fans are hoping for more. Since Ejiri’s Infini-T Force was partly published in English by Udon Entertainment and Nakama Press, there’s a real possibility that Gundam Red Giant could follow.
Final Thoughts
The conclusion of Gundam Red Giant marks the end of a short yet powerful story within the Gundam franchise. By exploring the aftermath of Jaburo and focusing on the Federation’s pursuit of Zeon, the series gave readers a fresh but equally gripping view of the Universal Century.
Looking ahead, the big question remains: will Gundam Red Giant reach global readers? Many fans certainly hope so, as the story deserves worldwide recognition.
