A member of the notorious "Port Mafia" that operates by the harbor. Akutagawa has a black and white "survival of the fittest" view of the world, claiming that weak people should die and give way to the stronger ones. His ability is called "Rashōmon" (羅生門).

He is not afraid of pain and defeat, if only to hear a word from a "certain person". His ruthless, vicious nature makes him one of the Port Mafia's most dangerous members, feared by both ally and foe. Much of the obedience he receives from subordinates of Black Lizard , and the Mafia in general, largely stems from fear of his short temper and general intolerance of incompetence.

In chapter 87,
~!it is revealed that Akutagawa doesn't have much time left to live, as he is suffering from a vital lung disease.!~

In chapter 88 of the manga,
~!Akutagawa turns undead, being bitten by Bram Stoker after a fatal blow which results in his death.!~
