About
Palutena is the goddess of light, the rightful ruler of Skyworld, the patron deity of Pit and the Centurions, and the guardian of humans. She first appeared in Kid Icarus for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, as a damsel in distress captured by the wicked Medusa, followed by an appearance in Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters for the Game Boy in 1991 - where she tasked Pit with finding the Three Sacred Treasures before being petrified by the villainous Orcos and becoming a damsel in distress yet again. Other than a handful of cameos, Palutena didn't make another major appearance until the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008, where she got a modern redesign and tasked Pit with helping Mario and friends. She then would appear in the 2012 Nintendo 3DS title Kid Icarus: Uprising, where she acted as Pit's guide and the bestower of his ability to fly.
