The antagonist of The Little Mermaid, the 1989 movie based on the 1837 Danish fairy tale of the same name. A Rubenesque Cecaelian sea witch, Ursula offers mermaid princess Ariel a temporary opportunity to become human so that she may earn the love of Prince Eric within three days. However, Ursula is determined to sabotage Ariel's chances in order to usurp the position of ruler of the seas from Ariel's father King Triton (who is her older brother in some interpretations).
