Winona resides in Fortree City and awards the Feather Badge. She is an expert on Flying-type Pokémon. Winona's name is taken from the words wing and winnow. Winona, depicted in the Pokémon anime, is a very experienced gym leader. She also owns a Shiny Swellow. She puts up a good fight against Ash, but thanks to Pikachu, Grovyle and Swellow, he manages to win his sixth badge having Grovyle beat Altaria, Pikachu tying with Pelipper and Swellow defeating Winona's Shiny Swellow. She also has a Skarmory which she didn't use against Ash.
