He's very dedicated to the family vineyard, and was often forced to travel because of that, causing Mel to occasionally feel left out. Despite that, Edel cares for Mel a great deal. At one point, he decides to visit Mel, causing a few problems for Mel, as she cannot tell him she's impersonating the Master Wizard.
