Monotarou

Height: 52cm (1'7")

One of five Monokubs featured in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. They control the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles alongside Monokuma, their father.

Monotaro is the leader figure of the Monokubs. He tries to unite the group's voices into one, but he's a clumsy scatterbrain who gets sidetracked a lot, and often struggles to keep his rambunctious siblings focused on the task at hand. He seems the most child-like and "pure" of the Kubs. He's relatively mild-mannered and less openly hostile towards the students, although like all of his siblings, he calls the students "you bastards" seemingly as an attempt to imitate his father. He also seems considerate of Monophanie and overall appreciates all the members of the group. He occasionally bullies his siblings and fights with them, just like all the Monokubs do. Despite not being a very competent leader nor the smartest, his siblings consider Monotaro a reliable figure.

~!While Monotaro has always been forgetful, his memory issues become notable in Chapter 3 and turn even worse in Chapter 4. He forgets who he is and who Monophanie is, becoming unable to do his usual job without Monophanie's guidance. He is often confused about where he is and what's happening. Because of this, he makes assumptions and ends up believing that Monophanie is his wife and K1-B0 and Miu are his parents. After Miu is murdered, Monotaro mouns her death deeply and even becomes an ally to the students in order to avenge her death, as he thinks she was his mother. By the start of the fourth Class Trial, he regains his memories thanks to Monophanie and goes back to her and Monokuma's side, saddening some of the students because they had begun to consider him a friend. Although, during the trial, Monotaro still refers to Miu as his "mommy" at times. After the trial, Monotaro and Monophanie are killed during Gonta's execution after Monophanie gives "birth" to a giant robotic wasp which explodes through her stomach and then slices Monotaro in half. This was set up by Monokuma because the Kubs had become boring to him. K1-B0 was noticeably horrified by Monotaro and Monophanie's fates, upset at Monokuma for doing such a thing to them.!~

~!At the end of chapter 5, Monokuma rebuilds Monotaro and the other Monokubs, bringing them back into the game. Monotaro seems to become much more aggressive after he is revived, leading the fight against K1-B0 to prevent the destruction the Academy. He seems to be motivated by his fear of Monokuma. During the chapter 6 Class Trial, Monokuma threatens to blow up each of the Monokubs if they don't make good arguments. Monotaro and Monophanie eventually end up as the last ones left; they act scared and cry, not knowing what else to do, and beg Shuichi to let them win and live. Nevertheless, they both end up destroyed by Monokuma.!~
